What is amber? How does it work? What can I use it for? We are taking it back to basics...
examining the origins of amber, how it does what it does, and how we can use amber to help us feel better and be healthier!
WHAT IS AMBER?
Amber is fossilized resin, sort of like sap, from ancient pine trees dating back millions of years ago.
HOW DOES AMBER WORK?
Let's think about what sap does for a tree: it oozes out, sealing and healing “wounds” or damage sustained by the tree. But how can it help humans? Well, amber contains succinic acid. This is the “active ingredient” that causes amber to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
All amber contains succinic acid, between 3-8%, but Baltic amber rates the highest at 11%. That’s why we import all of our amber beads ourselves from trusted and verified suppliers off the Baltic coast in Lithuania. We test each batch for authenticity… stay tuned for more info on that later!
When amber jewelry is worn against our bodies, the beads warm slightly releasing the oils into our skin and absorbing that amazing succinic acid!
WHAT CAN I USE AMBER FOR?
Worldwide, folks have been using amber for centuries for pain relief especially for teething. Americans are finally catching on and as we have, we are learning that amber isn’t just for our tiny people. It works for big people too!
Amber can help promote wellness and relieve inflammation symptoms from so many issues including, but by no means limited to:
It can also help ease emotions such as stress, depression, and anxiety.
For best results, wear your amber jewelry as often as possible, as close to your pain as possible. You want a necklace for headaches, teething pain, neck and shoulder pain. Bracelets are best for wrist, arm, shoulder issues. Anklets are great for foot, knee, hip pain.
You may notice relief very quickly when you put on your jewelry the first time! Most often, symptoms lessen within the first day. And sometimes, it’s more of a cumulative effect - where you’ll notice your symptoms easing off after 2-3 weeks of consistent wear.
